It’s a tough economy out there. And that means, at least with several industries, there are a lot more applicants for jobs than there are openings. A job hunter these days must do more than simply send out resumes and cover letters. Job applicants should not think in terms of a job search, but rather in terms of a marketing campaign. If you are looking for a job, you must market yourself. The product, after all, is YOU. That means you need to identify your target market, build a compelling brand identity and message, and then launch a soft-sell (but persistent) marketing campaign.
