Pastor Tubbs: I work at a county jail as a Corrections Lieutenant and one of my additional duties is Volunteer Program Coordinator for inmates. In addition to being an employee at our local Law Enforcement Center, I established an Inmate Literacy Program and volunteer in that area. Recently, I had a gentleman come into our facility and conducted Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University for inmates who were sincerely interested in change. Now, having completed that course, one of my civilian volunteers requested to survey the inmates to see if they would be interested in continuing their quest for purpose using Rick Warren’s Purpose-Driven Life. Anyway, long story short, I discovered your article on line, “Living Your Life On Purpose,” and am requesting permission to use/print it to share with our inmates so that they may make an informed decision. The reason for this is because it is a Literacy Class, not biblical instruction and we can only pursue it if all inmates involved do not object. Thank you for given this matter your consideration.
